Part Time Musician

Sunrise Presbyterian Church is looking for a part time musician (pianist/organist/choir coordinator). The church’s musician will provide spiritual enrichment through the music ministry of the church by coordinating the work of other musicians and choirs. Attendance is required on Sunday mornings and other special services as they may arise, such as: Baptisms, Confirmations, Weddings, Funerals, etc. It can also be considered special services those that are part of the liturgical year such as: Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, Pentecost, and any other religious or national observance days. The right candidate will be responsible for performing his/her duties on Sundays at the 10am Service. The musician is required to be at the church at 9am on Sundays to rehears one hour before the service begins. A total of two hours is required for this position (from 9am to 11:00am), without including the previously mentioned special celebrations as they may arise. Compensation is to be discussed with the applying candidates.

Music Director

Applicant must have an attitude of service and live a lifestyle consistent with the mission and goals of Sunset Presbyterian Church.  Keyboard/piano skills required.  Choir direction experience preferred.  Organ skill helpful.  Other instruments such as guitar helpful.  Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred, but not required.  Willingness to mix musical styles (such as traditional and contemporary, electric guitar with piano) required.  Demonstrated familiarity and versatility with classical music, traditional hymns and older contemporary Christian music (1970s to 1990s) required.  Familiarity with newer contemporary music helpful.
