Rev. Dr. Daris Bultena

The Rev. Dr. Daris Bultena serves as the General Presbyter and Stated Clerk for the Presbytery of Tropical Florida. While serving the Presbytery of Tropical Florida, Daris has helped the Presbytery to identify the meaning of being Vibrant Together. Through conversations, meetings, voting, discernment, and prayer the Presbytery has adopted a three-year plan for ministry that commits congregations and leaders to building relationships, seeking out spiritual depth, and being missional.
Rev. Bultena is a Minister of Word and Sacrament and served congregations in Maryland and Pennsylvania prior to moving to South Florida in 2017. He is a graduate of Union Theological Seminary and Princeton Theological Seminary. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Dakota. Daris was born and raised in South Dakota, and he was ordained to ministry by the Presbytery of South Dakota.
Rev. Geoffrey McLean
Associate General Presbyter

The Rev. Geoff McLean serves as the Associate General Presbyter for the Presbytery of Tropical Florida as of December of 2019. He works directly with congregations’ ministers and leaders to grow their vibrancy for fulfilling the Great Ends of the Church, as well as provide resources, foster missional engagement, and equip congregational capacity for discipleship and witness in the community.
Rev. McLean is a Minister of Word and Sacrament and served congregations in Virginia, Indiana, and Mississippi, prior to moving to Florida. He is a graduate of Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He has a bachelor’s degree from Bloomfield College and training as a Chaplain Candidate with the U.S. Navy. Geoff was born and raised in Wayne, New Jersey and was ordained by the Palisades Presbytery. He and his wife, Sheila, have two children: John (stepson), and Colin.
Susan Carpenter has worked for the Presbytery of Tropical Florida as the Financial Administrator since October 2007. She manages the Presbytery finances and resources various committees and churches. Susan is originally from London, Canada but grew up in the Bahamas and then moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1975 to finish high school at Pine Crest Preparatory School. Susan has an undergraduate degree in Business-Economics from the College of Wooster and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a Concentration in Accounting from the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University. Susan has been a CPA since 9/18/1985.
In 2019 Susan became a member of the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. and was also elected as the National Treasurer of the Administrative Personnel Association of the PCUSA. Susan has been married for over 30 year to Edward Carpenter and has three children Edward, Kathleen, and Ian.
Sandra Figueredo works for the Presbytery of Tropical Florida as the Mission Coordinator. She works closely with Daris Bultena in the development of the Vibrant Together materials, and sets up venues for the Assemblies, Ministry Together, and Pastor Pause/Convocations. She also manages the minister records and other office items.
Sandra is originally from Los Angeles, California area and has lived in South Florida for more than 25 years. Her husband, Guillermo “Wily” Figueredo is a PCUSA minister and together they have three children: Vanessa (NYC), Gabriel (NC), and Emilio (FL); and 1.5 grandchildren: Ryker and Arya(?). Sandra has a bachelor’s degree in International Ministries from the Moody Bible Institute, at Chicago; and has served as a missionary in Macau, China and Israel.
