This Sunday is Christmas Eve, and it is also the day that the fourth advent candle is lit. Many of us will worship in the morning and in the evening too. Also, for many of us, we are a bit thrown by the calendar when it falls this way.
With the Third Sunday of Advent comes the lighting of the rose-colored candle. It is the candle of joy. It is pink to remind us of our Easter joy and the incredible happiness and delight we have at the Resurrection of Christ. The fullness of incarnation is seen when we realize that even death has been conquered by the goodness and grace of the God of Life.
