Re-Opening & Resuming Discussion Tools
IMPORTANT TOOLS FOR DISCUSSION
The strength of our Presbytery has been demonstrated in our moving together as congregations in this Presbyterian family here in South Florida. While sessions do make the decision about when to resume in-person opportunities, it is the corporate witness of all 42 congregations working in tandem with each other to discern when is the best time for relaxing our suspension of in-person meeting, that is the testimony to the unity in the body of Christ.
It is my sincere hope that we will soon be able to say to pastors and sessions, “Now is the time to consider resuming in-person gatherings.” We CANNOT say that now! We CANNOT articulate a date when we will be able to recommend such considerations by sessions. Let’s work together in discerning when the time is right. Please continue to turn to each other as 42 congregations that constitute ONE church. Together our corporate witness is both strong and vibrant.
Our buildings need to remain closed. Do continue to be open to broad innovations and incredible transformations that technology has provided – I have witnessed this in you in this season. Your online presence has demonstrated clearly that there is no lapse in our proclamation of the Gospel.
Stay the course. Be strong. Be well. And, as I said in that letter six weeks ago, I say again: “I am with you; more importantly, Christ is with you. I’m praying for you. I’m loving you for the leaders you are.“
In Christ, Daris
